We are looking for an Executive Chef who’s ready to be the focal point of our restaurant and take their reputation & career to the next level!

This is a unique opportunity for the right chef AND business person. We have an established restaurant, phenomenal reviews, extremely supportive ownership, a dedicated staff, and experienced management/leadership. And now we need YOU!

Our current chef will be leaving soon to travel the world and spread her culinary wings. She’s been with us since the beginning and has been instrumental in forming the culture and following that we have. She has set a great foundation for us, and now we are looking for someone who can build upon our success AND forge their own identity within our restaurant concept.

Are you currently living/working in either Los Angeles or San Francisco (or maybe another big city in California)? California has great cities with hip restaurants and fun food scenes. But they also have nightmarish traffic, an insane cost of living, and the quality of life isn’t always what you hope for, or worth the stress. We’ve got the solution to all that….right here in San Luis Obispo!

You might not know much about our small city…you may have heard of it, may know of it as a college town or as a place in wine country. But we fell like we truly have it all here in SLO (our abbreviation). We have hiking & biking, arts & culture, the second largest Farmers’ Market in the western United States, wine & fine dining, downtown shopping, and the gorgeous Central Coast beaches are only 15 minutes down the road. Add a mild Mediterranean climate and a pleasant, small-town atmosphere, and you have the recipe for perfection.

We are just about halfway in between LA and San Fran. Relocating here is a breeze! We’re working with a flexible timetable with our current chef's departure, so you’ll have the time you’d need to plan for your move here. You’ll love the change of pace, the culture…and the rent is affordable!

Here are the qualifications we’re looking for in our ideal Chef candidate:

* 3-5+ years experience in an upscale & creative culinary operation, with leadership experience as a Sous and/or Head Chef.
* business-minded with a focus on adhering to food & labor cost percentages, organization, and teamwork with management/ownership.
* communication skills, a desire to develop your leadership skills, and a passion for developing the culinary talents of the BOH team.
* experience with menu writing AND costing, bulk & specialty food ordering, as well as inventory experience.
* commitment to food quality, recipe consistency, service, cleanliness/safety/sanitation, and all other company standards & policies.
* knowledge of and/or passion for learning much more about Central Coast foods, cheeses, meats, produce, seafood, etc.
* experience with and/or interest in wine knowledge, pairing wines with food dishes, and incorporating wine into our food culture.
* someone who wants to be the face our business, to build their brand and ours simultaneously, with energy & positivity.
